Community Manager

Full time - Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen or Remote

unmock is on the lookout for an empathetic developer with great people skills to be our community manager.

What we're looking for...

We are looking to hire a Community Manager who is passionate about coordinating and leading a growing community of developers using unmock to build great things. You should understand the power of great content, be comfortable with nurturing open source initiatives, and enjoy helping developers over various channels including spectrum.chat/unmock.

To be successful in this role, you must also love meeting with new people, spotting creative collaboration opportunities and building strong relationships with the most enthusiastic members of our community. You’ll also be the face of the organization at many outreach events, so we’re looking for someone with a charismatic personality.

We care deeply about diversity of perspectives, culture, age, and gender, and work especially hard to find talented individuals from groups that are underrepresented in tech companies, such as women, minority groups, LGBTIQ and the elderly.

Who we are

We’re Meeshkan, an award-winning Machine Learning and Developers Tools company based in Helsinki Finland, but our community and clients are from all around the world. We value curiosity, developer-led business initiatives, and healthy work/life balance. We believe that a company's most valuable resource is its workforce, and we work hard to keep our employees motivated and passionate.

Our flagship product, unmock, grows out of discussions with hundreds of developers about how they test their amazing products and services. No matter how big or small our client’s organization and budgets are, we feel that unmock provides them with an indispensable resource for authoring high-quality, resilient tests. Our community ranges from students to single-employee firms to developers from the world's greatest tech companies including Netflix, Twilio, PayPal and Slack.

Day to Day

On an almost daily basis, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Animating discussions on a variety of channels, including spectrum.chat and github.com/unmock.
  • Seeking contact with developers from the unmock community and keeping in touch even if a working relationship is not in place.
  • Growing the unmock community through the authoring of original content and evangelism at international events.
  • Spearheading and facilitating the creation and maintenance of open-source projects.
  • Collaborate with the product and sales teams to ensure that our roadmap reflects developers' needs and that developers with enterprise-grade needs can be serviced.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the developer workflow.
  • Keeping up to date with competitors and trends in the developer tools space.
  • You are someone who has...

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in software development.
  • A portfolio of articles about development.
  • A track record of pedagogy and/or speaking at events.
  • A history of contributions to, and potentially leading, open source projects.
  • A network of developers that you can turn to for alternative perspectives.
  • Excellent communication and people skills. You know how to listen, encourage, mediate and facilitate others' projects.
  • An undergraduate degree.
  • Company Benefits
